Trip Plans For The Coming Years

If there is one thing I love to do as an enthusiast when I can't go to parks, its plan what parks I would like to do and when. This started during the lockdown in October 2020 and I keep refining and updating the plan to keep it as accurate as possible. Firstly there's a list of park in the UK to expand my cred list beyond 100 that are aimed to be done in 2022.

UK Credit Plans

Starting with a few places large and small, near and far with a total of 23 credits to gain in the next 12 months. Chessington is high on the priority list after not being able to fit in last year along with Southport Pleasureland. Then with the aim of mopping up the credits not too far away before I finish uni, I will hunt down West Midland Safari Park, Cannon Hill park, St Nicholas Park as well as Buffalo coaster at Drayton Manor. Then up near Manchester there are 2 coasters at New Brighton to tick off the list. Finally with the major trip of the year for this country in terms of new parks- Adventure Island in Southend, 5 credits and letting Austin rave about ANOTHER Eurofighter, God help us all.

I suppose the ultimate aim is to hit all the creds possible in the country but until then we have a few other parks we want to get to. Pleasurewood hills and the area around there including Clacton Pier, Oakwood which is a big draw for us, Paultons Park which looks like a very exciting park that's expanding as well as Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach to get on another classic wooden coaster. Then there's the possible parks such as London Resort and Blackpool Central and if they happen we'll be sure to head there too.

Then we move on to slightly less detailed plans that are currently being hashed out but we'll start with Europe and hopefully what will happen this year.

Europe

So for this year while we are not certain if we do this or Germany. The current plan is to head to Sweden and hit Liseberg, Gronalund and Kolmarden. These parks have some insane rides and a lot of firsts for us which would be great to experience. We'd spend around a week hitting the parks as well as experiencing Sweden and what is has to offer. Later in the year we are in agreement to head to Energylandia for 19 credits and some incredible looking rides. If this plan happens and goes ahead then we will experience our first 2 RMCs this year and I will probably never shut up about them.

The following year will most likely be the Germany trip with 5 parks to be selected, Europa Park and Phantasialand are guaranteed but the other 3 are uncertain with 5 options in place with Hansa Park, Heide Park, Holiday Park, Movie Park Germany and Tripsdrill competing to make the lineup. Along with this a smaller trip to Portaventura in Spain will be happening with the main focus being on Shambhala, a B&M hyper coaster to wet the apatite.

Moving into 2024, we will look into Belgium and Netherlands combined trip. This will cover Walibi Belgium, Plopsaland, Walibi Holland, Efteling and Toverland and this will no doubt leave us with an impressive list of creds by the end of the year. As you'd guess, another smaller trip abroad is planned with this one being Disneyland Paris to actually get to a Disney park and tick off a lot of rides that I am desperate to get on even if a Disney park seems pretty daunting as the park planning guy.

A few other European parks have been picked out that we have interest in doing and they are: Gardaland, Tivoli Gardens, Parque Warner, Parc Asterix, Tayto Park, Land of Legends and Farup Sommerland. This list will likely expand as places add more and we look more into other parks

Surely this would be enough to satisfy any trip planner but my ambitions know no bounds and we have picked out a few trips outside of Europe to conquer. 2 of these trips have been put in place of when we are likely to do them and the other trips are further away and therefore are not worth planning till closer to the time.

Rest of the World

The main trip, perhaps the best trip we will ever do as long as it goes ahead will be our first US trip and will cover Ohio and Missouri. This is because me and Austin picked out a park in America we wanted to do and luckily they were not too far away from each other. I wanted Cedar Point as you could guess if you read our last post. But chuck in Kings Island and we have a winning combo. Meanwhile Missouri offers Silver Dollar City as Austin demands we go here and on top of that we will go to Worlds of Fun and Six Flags St Louis which will be out first Six Flags and be an incredible first trip if we pull it off.

The next big trip is likely to be Japan, mainly because Austin won't stop talking about it when it comes to abroad trips. So what's in Japan? Well there Universal and Disney parks so that's a very good start all things considered. All going well we hit the 2 that particularly intrigue us with Fuji Q Highland and Nagashima Spa Land to ride some incredible coasters that I will not attempt to spell. At this point we will be full on adults and our cred list might be longer than our beer lists.

To finish off we picked out a few states in the US for further trips at some point just to tick them off and get a big haul of creds. These include Florida which is inevitable, California to get on loads of rides- Rise of Resistance is my main goal for that state and finally Pennsylvania with 4 parks picked out there and possibly able to combine it with New York to squeeze a little more in but lets see.

Surely this won't be my number 1 in a years time if plans go ahead

Don't worry, that's it and once I win the lottery I will be able to make this all happen but until then it is very much a plan. It has been updated several times already without getting abroad once yet but the dream lives on and eventually we will tick off at least the majority of the European plans and the first US trip but who knows what life will throw at us. I find great satisfaction being able to plan these trips and get lost in the hope and working out all the little details that go along with it. Who knows what happens over the coming years but my passion will not falter for sure.

As always, thanks for reading and let me know if you have any exciting plans.

Take care and see you in the next post.

Tom ✌

The Cedar Point Dream

Everyone knows this place, home to some extreme coasters, insane rides and one huge reputation. The coasters alone boast such a reputation with the first hyper (Magnum XL 200), the first giga (Millennium Force) and the first strata (Top Thrill Dragster) as well as rides such as Gatekeeper and Rougarou along with what is considered the best coaster in the world- Steel Vengeance. This park is the holy grail for many enthusiasts and I am one of those people so I thought I'd break it down and look at why I am so desperate to get to Sandusky, Ohio. History Of course the history undergraduate had to go straight to this but this park seems to have its history brushed to one side as its a park that constantly adapts, yet it is older then our old friend Pleasure Beach by 26 years and of their 16 operating coasters, only 6 opened this century. It's a park that keeps moving forward, always at the forefront of the amusement industry and breaking records. This is evident by the closure of

My Ideal Park: Part 2

Welcome back to this series, going through my ideal park that I am pretending to create. The main aim is to make an immersive, well themed, fun and exciting park and ultimately tailored to what I like to see in theme parks across the globe and drawing plenty of inspiration from these places. In this second part, we will be looking at the first 2 of 5 large themed area- these will be a Space and Jungle theme, situated on the immediate left of the entrance via a path through some trees will be the Space themed area and then travelling through a path to past the Space theme to the Jungle themed land.  Space Land To cover this, as I appreciate this s a relatively vague theme. This is set in 50 years time where society has set up a city on the moon. I know it's not too original but it seems pretty neat to me and think done right, will be the signature area of the park, aiming to be Phantasialand level theming across the park but this one just being pushed that bit further to stun guest
